Put your skills and talent to work towards youth mentoring.

As Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal continues to grow, we’re looking to exceed our goals in terms of outreach to the public. In response to the growing demand from young people for mentoring, we’re looking to expand our team of mentoring facilitators so we can offer these services to even more lives.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate, autonomous, organized, with good teamwork and interpersonal skills, and who demonstrates versatility, flexibility and initiative. The person selected for this position must be able to carry out a large part of his/her mandate from home. We hope that the new member of our team will be able to put his or her qualities and knowledge to good use by proposing new ideas to advance the mentoring movement.

Candidates must have a college or university diploma related to human relations (social work, intervention, psychology) and be fluent in French and English.

Responsibilities:
The Mentoring Manager trains and supervises matches (an adult volunteer paired with a child aged 6 to 18), to ensure their harmonious and healthy development. He/she is called upon to supervise matches, and to follow up by telephone and in person with volunteers, parents and children, in order to support the development of the mentoring relationship.

The Mentoring Manager is responsible for conducting family interviews when children are registered, and may be called upon to design and run information sessions. He/she will also be called upon to train new volunteers and participate in group activities organized on an ad hoc basis. He/she must provide support to the families, children and volunteers who benefit from our programs, whether it be mentoring in the community or mentoring in the school. The mentoring manager must keep his/her files up to date and write the various reports related to these tasks. He/she must also participate in the organization’s projects by getting involved in various committees.

What we offer:
A salary starting at $19.69 per hour (depending on experience – collective agreement salary scale), a flexible schedule adapted to telecommuting, competitive benefits (group insurance, possibility of contributing to a savings fund), professional development opportunities and personalized supervisory support.

As stated in our policy, our organization is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion, both among our customers and within our team. The successful candidate will be called upon to collaborate on inclusion programs, including LGBTQ2+ programs and programs for the Black and Aboriginal communities. We invite all candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
