How Does It Work?
Here’s how to create a birthday fundraiser, step by step, on desktop or mobile (based on Facebook Help) :
- On Desktop:
- Go to your Facebook account and click the Facebook logo in the top left corner.
- In the menu, click « Fundraisers » (click « See More » if you don’t see the option).
- Click « Raise Money » or « Select Nonprofit ».
- Choose our organization: « Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal ».
- Set up your fundraiser and finish by clicking « Create ».

Every donation directly helps provide positive mentoring relationships to youth in our community. By turning your birthday into an opportunity for generosity, you give more young people the support and guidance they need to succeed.
When people donate to a charity on Facebook, the money is transferred to the PayPal Giving Fund, which then transfers the funds raised to the organization.
Donations made on Facebook via PayPal Giving Fund to support our organization may be tax-deductible. After a donation, PayPal Giving Fund sends an official certificate to the donor’s e-mail address.

Meta no longer covers payment processing fees for donations in Canada.
A processing fee of 1.6% + $0.30 applies to all donations. Donors will have the option of increasing their donation to cover this fee.
Yes, to make an anonymous donation, select “Me only” from the donation form’s privacy menu.
