Between<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>spring<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>cleaning<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>moving<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>season<\/span>, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of\u00a0<\/span>Montreal<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Foundation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>launched<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>L\u00e2che le morceau<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>campaign<\/span>, an at-home\u00a0<\/span>clothing<\/span>\u00a0collection\u00a0<\/span>campaign<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>took<\/span>\u00a0place\u00a0<\/span>from<\/span>\u00a0June 25 to July 25. The objective\u00a0<\/span>was<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>raise<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>funds<\/span>\u00a0to support the vision of\u00a0<\/span>providing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>professional<\/span>\u00a0mentoring services to as\u00a0<\/span>many<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>young<\/span>\u00a0people as possible in the\u00a0<\/span>Greater<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Montreal<\/span>\u00a0area.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jean Laberge,\u00a0<\/span>Gene<\/span>r<\/span>al Manager<\/span>\u00a0of the BBBS\u00a0<\/span>Foundation<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>explains<\/span>: \u00ab\u00a0The\u00a0<\/span>campaign<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>was<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>designed<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>demonstrate<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>simplicity<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>our<\/span>\u00a0collection service. By\u00a0<\/span>simply<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>filling<\/span>\u00a0out an online\u00a0<\/span>form<\/span>, an email\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0sent to\u00a0<\/span>you<\/span>\u00a02\u00a0<\/span>weeks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>before<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>each<\/span>\u00a0pickup date in\u00a0<\/span>your<\/span>\u00a0area. On the\u00a0<\/span>day<\/span>\u00a0of the pickup, all\u00a0<\/span>you<\/span>\u00a0have to do\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>leave<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>your<\/span>\u00a0donations at the front\u00a0<\/span>door<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>your<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>presence<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0not\u00a0<\/span>required<\/span>!\u00a0<\/span>Moreover<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>knowing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0a Canadian\u00a0<\/span>throws<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>away<\/span>\u00a0an\u00a0<\/span>average<\/span>\u00a0of 37\u00a0<\/span>kilograms<\/span>\u00a0of textiles per\u00a0<\/span>year<\/span>, 95% of\u00a0<\/span>which<\/span>\u00a0can\u00a0<\/span>be<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>reused<\/span>, the\u00a0<\/span>Foundation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>positioning<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>itself<\/span>\u00a0as\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0major\u00a0<\/span>player<\/span>\u00a0in textile\u00a0<\/span>recycling<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>here<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>Montreal<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a04.4 million\u00a0<\/span>kilograms<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>clothing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>collected<\/span>\u00a0last\u00a0<\/span>year<\/span>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the participation of he community, including BBBS ambassadors actress Elisabeth Locas and three-time Olympic medalist Marianne St-Gelais, more than 15,859 pounds of clothing were collected through home pickups during the campaign.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
